**Key Responsibilities**
- Perform laboratory procedures and validate results to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Prioritize and complete assigned workload efficiently, producing high-quality results within established timeframes.
- Stay up-to-date with new technology and advancements in the field, attending mandatory in-services and continuing education seminars as required.
- Review and implement process improvements to enhance clinical service, technical performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage inventory and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste.
- Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary for specific duties.
- Prepare and package biohazardous waste according to established guidelines.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation and equipment as required.
- Understand and competently perform various techniques using automated analyzers in hematology and chemistry departments.
- Perform quality control and preventative maintenance, ensuring accurate analysis and interpretation of results.
- Process specimens for in-lab analysis and prepare specimens for referral testing.
- Prepare reagents, controls, and samples for analysis, adhering to established protocols.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and guidelines, guiding others to follow best practices.
**Requirements**
- Florida State License as a Laboratory Technologist in Chemistry, Hematology, and Immunology is required.
- ASCP Certification as a Medical Technologist is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a laboratory healthcare setting is required.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with a desire to be part of a dynamic laboratory team.
