Key Responsibilities

As a Culinary Service Associate, you will independently carry out tasks that require specialized knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of food service operations, including food and beverage preparation, dietary modifications, and sanitation practices.

Major responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Setting up and dismantling assigned workstations with appropriate supplies and food items;
  • Portioning food into standard serving sizes using designated utensils;
  • Determining appropriate food items for various dietary needs based on provided diet cards;
  • Offering patients basic guidance on modified diets and available nutrition services;
  • Identifying discrepancies between prescribed diets and menu items;
  • Following instructions for assembling, measuring, and mixing ingredients for standard recipes;
  • Delivering meal trays to patients and reporting feedback to supervisors;
  • Assisting cooks with food preparation tasks, including assembling and labeling items;
  • Preparing fresh fruits, salads, dressings, sandwiches, and desserts;
  • Conducting final checks on diet trays for accuracy and temperature;
  • Working in various kitchen areas such as food prep, dishwashing, and storage;
  • Performing thorough cleaning tasks throughout the food service areas;
  • Carrying out additional duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Flexible shifts available.

Conditions of Employment
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Selected candidates may be subject to drug screening prior to appointment.
  • Selective Service Registration is mandatory for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Probationary period may be required.
  • Background/security investigation is necessary.
  • Pre-employment physical examination is required.
  • Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is mandatory.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination requirements is necessary.
Qualifications

To qualify for this role, applicants must demonstrate relevant training or experience that showcases their ability to perform the duties of this position.

Physical Requirements: The role involves light to moderate physical activity, including lifting and moving objects weighing up to 20 pounds unassisted and occasionally heavier items with assistance.
