The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the preparation and care of patients undergoing surgical procedures. As an integral member of the surgical team, this position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a sterile environment. The Surgical Technologist is well-versed in the instruments, supplies, and equipment utilized during surgical operations. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the procedures being performed, with the ability to anticipate the surgeon's needs effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the care and preparation of surgical patients.
- Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgical process.
- Demonstrate knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures.
- Provide care in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet at least one of the following criteria:
1) Completion of a surgical technologist training program
OR
2) A minimum of one year of recent experience as a surgical technologist
OR
3) At least one year of recent experience as a central service technician
OR
4) A minimum of two years of recent experience as an OR/Endo Support assistant.
Licensure and Credentials:
- Current registration as a Surgical Technologist in Washington State.
- BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
