We are seeking a skilled Breakfast Cook to join our culinary team at Big Cedar Lodge. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and setting up the breakfast line, ensuring a seamless and efficient service for our guests.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, portion, and gather all necessary supplies for breakfast preparation.
- Handle knives and operate small kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare all food from the breakfast menu using standard recipes and hotel standards.
- Work effectively with others in a close environment, demonstrating a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Maintain a clean and organized station, adhering to high standards of sanitation and safety.
- Identify product needs and requisition items as required.
- Notify the Lead Cook of expected shortages and maintain open communication.
- Ensure a safe and secure work environment, adhering to local health and safety regulations.
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance, adhering to personal cleanliness rules.
- One to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively before groups.
- Mathematical skills to calculate figures and amounts, apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
- Must be at least 18 years old, have a safe driving record.
The physical demands of this role include standing, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, talking or hearing, and tasting or smelling. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
The work environment is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
