At Emory Healthcare, we are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Hematology Oncology at Emory Johns Creek Hospital.

Job Overview

This role is a day shift position, working 4/10 shifts per week. We prefer candidates with two years of oncology APP experience.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the evaluation and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
  • Document patient care in medical records.
  • Conduct patient interviews and document patient histories, psychosocial histories, health status, and medical problems.
  • Perform physical examinations, specialized diagnostic procedures, and cast application/removal.
  • Diagnose medical problems, develop care plans, and prescribe treatment under physician supervision.
  • Order laboratory tests, schedule diagnostic procedures, and perform tasks like urinalyses, pregnancy tests, and blood tests.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Licensed as an advanced practice nurse in Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Licensed appropriately in Georgia.
  • Must have at least one year of direct experience in high acuity clinical specialties.
  • BLS and Healthcare Provider certifications required; ACLS may be required in some areas.
  • Nurse Practitioner candidates must be Acute Care certified (ACNP or AGACNP).

Compensation and Benefits
