Job Summary
The Staff Registered Nurse I at Kaiser Permanente plays a vital role in delivering patient-centered care. This position requires collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality, safe, and effective care.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the nursing process to assess patient health status, identify nursing diagnoses, set goals, and develop individualized care plans.
- Complete post-encounter reviews to address care gaps during patient interactions.
- Acknowledge and document patient data, actions, interventions, and treatment responses according to established policies and guidelines.
- Support procedures and monitor patient responses during and after the procedure.
- Promote patient engagement, family education, and caregiver coordination to ensure comprehensive care.
- Address medical emergencies as necessary.
- Manage electronic messaging and emails related to patient or provider requests and handle messages or triage them accordingly.
- Initiate and monitor IV therapy, medication administration, and other nursing procedures as prescribed by physicians or associate practitioners.
- Evaluate patient and family health education needs, provide health teaching and counseling, and assess the effectiveness of the education process.
- Make outgoing telephone calls for follow-up care and preventative outreach.
- Engage in quality improvement activities and departmental training initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- One year of RN clinical experience or completion of the Kaiser Permanente Georgia Nurse Residency program.
- Associates degree in nursing.
- Registered Professional Nurse License (Georgia) required at hire.
- Basic Life Support required at hire.
