Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the day-to-day financial functions related to accounting for Cooperatives with a focus on Patronage, Equity and Member Certificates of Indebtedness as well as other accounting related assignments, projects and customer support functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Responsible for handling telephone calls and walk-in member requests with regard to Patronage and Equity.
  2. Maintain the company's Equity Program policy, guidelines, rules and processes.
  3. Assist customers with equity transactions (membership applications, stock purchases, stock redemption and transfer requests).
  4. Maintain member stock/equity records, membership eligibility and voting records.
  5. Assist in processing annual patronage payout to members.
  6. Provide accurate and consistent detailed equity information as requested by the Board of Directors, management, auditors and member patrons.
  7. Monthly general ledger account reconciliations.
  8. Primary backup to learn other positions in AR, AP, Inventory, Credit.
  9. Customer Support ability to answer telephone calls, ascertaining the nature of the call, screening and routing calls in a prompt and professional manner.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned by upper management.
Requirements:

This position requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business with a minimum 5 years experience in business, finance or accounting in an office setting. Experience with Agriculture Cooperative Accounting is a plus.

Working Conditions:

Job involves work inside a climate-controlled office atmosphere.
