Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in supporting the Medication Management, Administration, and Distribution Services (MMADS) effort at Fort Leavenworth, KS.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, set up, and deliver daily inmate medications.
  • Observe and report any reactions and/or side effects to medication taken by inmates.
  • Document administered medication on patients' medication administration records (MARs).
  • Conduct lifesaving measures in emergency situations, including CPR, deploying AEDs, and assessing and treating trauma.
  • Work closely with all personnel, local hospitals, pharmacies, and health service providers.
  • Maintain medical records and assist patients in complying with prescribed medical regimens.
  • Supervise LPNs and Nursing Assistants.
Requirements
  • BS degree as a registered nurse with a minimum of one year of experience working as a RN within the last two years.
  • Current unrestricted registered nurse license and ability to obtain and maintain an unrestricted registered nurse license from either the State of Kansas or Missouri within six months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from The American Heart Association.
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
Security Clearance Requirements

There are currently no Security Clearance requirements for this position; however, candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check.

Due to the location of this work, US Citizenship is required.
