We are seeking a skilled School Nurse Supervisor to join our team at PA Cyber. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to oversee school health policies and programs, direct other members of the Nurses Department, and provide expertise in school health services.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing health care to students and staff, performing health screenings, and coordinating medical referrals. They will also be expected to analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations, as well as complete annual state reports prior to due dates.

This role requires strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of students, parents, and staff. The School Nurse Supervisor must also be able to maintain confidentiality and keep parents/staff informed of changes in immunization requirements.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide supervision and direction to the members of the school health team for prioritizing project deadlines and ensuring optimal utilization of personnel.
  2. Supervise department functions, including supervising all health services staff, enrolling new students, mailing records, maintaining records, planning, scheduling & coordinating activities, training, advising, etc., to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  3. Communicate daily with team members to coordinate all student health services for the school health program.
  4. Establish health care plans for students with special health care needs, including individual health plans and emergency health plans, update them as needed, and provide them to teachers and other staff as necessary.
  5. Monitor compliance of the school health program with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies.
  6. Complete and submit annual health office budget.
  7. Facilitate and organize the ordering and maintenance of medical supplies and equipment.
  8. Maintain confidential student health records.
  9. Record immunizations, health findings, and other relevant health data.
  10. Conduct annual health screenings on students.
  11. Review student health records upon enrollment, including immunization status and chronic conditions.
  12. Train and instruct staff responsible for first aid and CPR.
  13. Provide first aid to students and staff as necessary.
  14. Educate students and staff in safety and wellness, promoting good safety and health practices in the school.
  15. Ensure that reports required by the school district, PA Department of Health, Division of School Health, and PA Department of Education are properly prepared and forwarded.
  16. Attend workshops/seminars to keep current on school health issues and requirements.
  17. Provide students and guardians with referral information along with available community resources to improve access to healthcare.
  18. Understand and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies, as well as school policies.
  19. Administer medications and perform procedures according to physician orders, ensuring physician orders for individual student medications and/or treatments comply with requirements for administration.
Requirements
  • An active and valid Pennsylvania License as a Registered Nurse.
  • Experience with school systems preferred.
  • A Bachelor's Degree.
  • An active and valid PA School Nurse Certification.
  • Current First Aid/CPR Instructor Certification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpretation skills.
  • Child Abuse Clearance; Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check; Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Clearance.
Estimated Salary Range

$60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
