As an Operating Room Nurse with UNC Health Care, you will be part of a dynamic team that provides high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care services, including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care.
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes.
- Participate in the maintenance of a safe and efficient operating room environment, adhering to strict infection control protocols and regulatory standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient satisfaction and outcomes.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.
- ACLS and CPR certification required; CNOR certification desirable.
- Previous experience as an OR nurse preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capacity to maintain emotional stability and composure in high-pressure situations.
The Operating Room Nurse will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with exposure to blood-borne pathogens, infectious diseases, radiation, chemicals, and electrical hazards. The ability to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is required.
Physical Requirements- Ability to engage in prolonged periods of standing, moving stretchers and equipment, and assisting with patient positioning.
- Capacity to carry and lift instrument sets and various items of equipment.
- Must be able to maintain emotional stability and composure in high-pressure situations.
