Lead Primary Care Provider

As a Lead Primary Care Provider, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare by overseeing the day-to-day operations of our practice while delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage daily operations of the clinic, ensuring seamless and efficient processes.
  • Supervise the Nurse Manager in managing Medical Assistants to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and Nurse Manager to foster a team-oriented approach and engage staff.
  • Manage Advanced Practice Providers' schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Oversee clinic budget and spending, ensuring financial health and operational efficiency.
  • Implement practice changes as needed to improve workflow and patient outcomes.
  • Monitor and manage the clinic's immunization program and medication sample supplies, ensuring compliance and adequate stock.
  • Provide direct primary care services to up to 550 members, ensuring a patient-focused approach that aligns with FDC's values and care model.
  • Plan and participate in sponsor and community engagement events, representing FDC's mission and services to the broader community.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and management of Primary Care Providers and the Nurse Manager in the practice.
  • Conduct applicant interviews, onboard and train new hires in practice operations, and ensure adherence to FDC's safety standards.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to Primary Care Providers and the Nurse Manager, facilitating weekly one-on-one meetings, resolving conflicts, and coordinating PTO.
  • Address interpersonal conflicts and create a supportive environment for professional growth.
  • Serve as the liaison between the practice and administration, ensuring effective communication and alignment of goals.
  • Attend and actively contribute to Practice L10 and Medical Leadership Direct Care L10 meetings, representing the clinic's interests and needs.
  • Report directly to the Medical Director, providing regular updates on practice operations, staffing, and patient care metrics.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree (MD/DO) or equivalent; valid state licensure as a primary care provider.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a clinical setting, preferably in a direct care or value-based healthcare model.
  • Strong understanding of clinic operations, budget management, and patient care processes.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to foster team collaboration and resolve conflicts.
  • Experience in overseeing immunization programs, medication management, and staff scheduling.
