MaineHealth Neurology is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team in the care of individuals with movement disorders. This is a 100% outpatient position with no inpatient consultation, offering a full-time, 40 hours per week schedule with benefits.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will work with our movement disorder neurologists to assist in the initial evaluation and management of patients with movement disorders, such as Parkinson's disease, chorea, tremor, and dystonia. Additionally, they will assist in headache evaluations, respond to patient phone calls and MyChart messages, review lab and imaging results, and communicate with patients regarding these results.
Responsibilities- Assist in the initial evaluation and management of patients with movement disorders
- Participate in headache evaluations and respond to patient phone calls and MyChart messages
- Review lab and imaging results and communicate with patients regarding these results
- Work collaboratively with movement disorder neurologists to provide high-quality patient care
- Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Two years of Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant experience preferred but not required
- Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure
- Current BLS certification
