Compensation for this role is $16 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily upkeep of public restroom facilities, which includes cleaning mirrors, sinks, toilets, and floors (mopping and sweeping), as well as maintaining walls, doors, and trash receptacles. Ensure supplies are replenished and the surrounding grounds are kept clean.
  • Assist in setting up and cleaning up for meetings and special events.
  • Support grounds maintenance tasks as necessary.
  • Provide assistance to visitors by offering directions to exhibits, answering inquiries, and helping in emergency situations.
  • Contribute to special events such as Wildlights and Zoofari by providing support and assistance.
  • Ensure the safety of oneself, colleagues, animals, and guests through regular participation in safety training, adherence to standard operating procedures, and proper use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Collaborate with other facilities staff as needed.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.
  • Be aware that the posted schedule may change based on operational requirements, including weather conditions and guest attendance.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is necessary.
  • New-hire TB testing is mandatory.
  • Ability to efficiently plan and organize work without direct supervision is essential.
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and rain.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to build and maintain cooperative working relationships with all team members is necessary.
  • Adherence to standard operating procedures, including safety protocols, is required.
  • Must provide excellent guest service by positively engaging with visitors and upholding company standards.
  • Maintain appropriate employee appearance as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Availability on weekends and holidays is essential.
