Position Overview

Compensation: $16 per hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily upkeep of public restroom facilities, ensuring cleanliness of mirrors, sinks, toilets, and floors through mopping and sweeping, as well as maintaining the cleanliness of surrounding outdoor areas.
  • Assist in the preparation and cleanup of rooms for meetings and special events.
  • Support grounds maintenance tasks as required.
  • Provide assistance to visitors by offering directions to exhibits, answering inquiries, and aiding in emergency situations.
  • Contribute to the success of special events such as Wildlights and Zoofari by providing necessary support.
  • Ensure the safety of oneself, staff, animals, and guests through active participation in safety training, adherence to standard operating procedures, and proper handling of equipment.
  • Collaborate with other facilities personnel when needed.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
  • Be aware that the posted schedule may change based on operational requirements, including weather conditions and guest attendance.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is necessary.
  • New-hire TB testing is mandatory.
  • Ability to efficiently plan and organize work independently is essential.
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and rain.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships with all team members is crucial.
  • Compliance with standard operating procedures, including safety protocols, is required.
  • Excellent guest service skills are necessary, with a focus on positive interactions and upholding high service standards.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Availability to work on weekends and holidays is essential.
  • Subject to BMV check.
  • Adherence to a Drug-Free Workplace Policy is required.
  • Background checks will be conducted as part of the hiring process.
