Position Overview
We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as a Boat Assembly Specialist. This role involves the assembly of high-quality offshore fishing vessels. If you possess mechanical skills and enjoy collaborating with others to achieve common goals, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
This position will focus on the installation of various components, including decks, liners, consoles, leaning posts, and other fabricated parts.
Essential Qualifications
- Proficient in using hand tools such as tape measures, razor knives, screw guns, drills, and ratchets.
- Ability to regularly lift, push, or pull weights up to 50 lbs without assistance.
- Capability to safely climb using stairs, scaffolding, ladders, and ramps to access boats and related equipment.
- Willingness to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, including exposure to sunlight.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining focus on tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills with minimal supervision.
- Attention to detail with the ability to identify defects.
- Previous experience in assembly work is preferred.
In this role, you will frequently encounter fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations. The noise level in the workspace can be quite loud.
Physical Demands
The physical requirements for this position include:
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, protective suits, dust masks, and respirators.
- Occasional requirements to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 15 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work 10-hour shifts or more, including planned and unplanned overtime.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely and efficiently in potentially hazardous conditions.
