Public Safety Auxiliary Patrol Representative

Job Summary

As a Public Safety Auxiliary Patrol Representative with ApacheJunction, you will play a vital role in assisting police staff with daily operations. This volunteer position does not offer compensation but provides an opportunity to contribute to the department's mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactive patrol in a marked auxiliary vehicle to support police operations
  • Assist with traffic control on police scenes and during events
  • Participate in police-related community events to foster relationships and build trust
  • Perform routine tasks around the department to ensure efficiency
  • Assist with fleet maintenance to ensure vehicles are in good working condition

Requirements
  • Ability to lift 30-50 pounds to perform tasks safely
  • Valid driver's license to operate an auxiliary marked patrol vehicle
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate through police radios
  • Ability to take direction and adhere to the chain of command during field operations

Commitment
A minimum of one year of service is required, with a commitment of at least 16 hours per month. Exceptions for fewer hours may be considered based on department needs and the volunteer's residency status.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Age: Must be 18 years or older
  • Background Check: Volunteers must pass a thorough background investigation, fingerprint clearance, and oral board interviews
