Position Overview:
- Responsible for acquiring foodservice supplies, custom printed products, janitorial items, equipment, and small wares according to ordering requirements.
- Oversee global procurement orders in advance, ensuring compliance with supplier container specifications.
- Manage the buying group functions for Network Services, which entails sourcing products and maintaining cost agreements for Corporate Accounts.
- Monitor and relay purchase order estimated times of arrival (ETAs) to the sales team.
- Engage in negotiations with supplier partners to secure competitive pricing and program offerings.
- Assist the sales team with customer product inquiries and collaborate with suppliers to develop effective solutions.
- Administer rebate programs, ensuring they are current and facilitate the collection of outstanding rebate funds quarterly.
- Establish and nurture relationships with suppliers.
- Perform cost analysis using spreadsheets to evaluate expenses across product categories.
- Assess inventory levels and implement necessary adjustments to stocking practices.
- Coordinate product deliveries and backhauls from vendors.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong clerical skills, including data entry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- A minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience is required, with a preference for candidates with distribution and/or inventory experience. Familiarity with Prophet 21 or similar distribution/inventory systems is advantageous.
- Experience in vendor relations and collaboration with Sales Representatives.
