Job Title: Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Tempositions, Inc.

About the Role

The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for designing and delivering lessons tailored to the individual needs and capabilities of students with physical, emotional, mental, and learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach content and skills to assigned students using common core aligned curriculum and approved courses of study
  • Develop strategies for maintaining a classroom environment conducive to effective learning and utilize effective teaching methods
  • Identify need for diagnostic testing, identify student capabilities, and monitor student progress on a regular basis to ensure that goals are being met
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records and complete all record keeping/administrative responsibilities on time as required by law and Pinnacle policies
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in special education
  • Valid Connecticut state endorsement 165-Special Education
  • Minimum 2 years' experience teaching special education student populations with language-based learning differences
  • Familiar with the IEP process and the collection of progress monitoring data
  • Commitment to helping children of all abilities reach their full potential
