Job Summary:

The Surgical Technician II is a vital member of the perioperative team at the University of Vermont Medical Center. This role requires a high level of expertise in creating and maintaining a sterile field, as well as anticipating the needs of surgeons during intraoperative procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of operative procedures, equipment, anatomy, and surgeon preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures
• Anticipate and meet the needs of surgeons and other perioperative team members
• Collaborate with the perioperative team to ensure seamless patient care
• Participate in precepting and training new staff members

Requirements:

• High School graduate or equivalent
• BLS Certification
• Proof of graduation from a Civilian, Military, or Hospital Based Surgical Technician Education Program
• Eligibility to obtain National Certification via NBSTSA (CST) or NCCT (TS-C)

• Minimum of two years successful experience as a Surgical Technician
