Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Orthopedics. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will work under the general supervision of our Medical Director and physician partners to deliver high-quality medical care to patients at WakeMed.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver competent medical care to patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Complete referrals, consults, daily patient rounds, daily notes, discharge summaries, procedures, clinic notes, pre and post-procedure care, and patient care follow-ups
  • Work closely with other healthcare providers in a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to maximize patient care
  • Function as an educator for PA/NP/CNM/DO students from healthcare education programs
  • Maintain the scope of practice consistent with policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines governed by the North Carolina Medical Board and other federal or state regulatory agencies
Requirements
  • 1 year of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant or Nursing (required) and Master's degree in Physician Assistant or Nursing (preferred)
  • Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (required) and Basic Life Support certification within 6 months of hire
Work Schedule

40 hours per week, with weekend and call requirements as needed
