Position Summary:

The primary objective of the Floor Technician role is to execute scheduled floor maintenance activities as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor. Responsibilities may include mopping, sweeping, dusting, window washing, carpet shampooing, vacuuming, and general cleaning of furniture, equipment, fixtures, and hardware.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all floor surfaces are maintained to high standards.
  • Perform buffing, waxing, stripping, and top scrubbing of floors.
  • Carry out carpet extraction and vacuuming as instructed by the Supervisor.
  • Utilize appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment effectively.
  • Report any maintenance needs to the Supervisor or maintenance team as necessary.
  • Request necessary supplies and equipment from the Supervisor.
  • Identify and rectify safety hazards while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Familiarize with Cantex Continuing Care Network's policies regarding abuse prevention and understand the employee's responsibility to uphold these standards.
  • Participate in weekly training sessions and comply with Patient Care Management Systems.
  • Ensure the safety of patients/residents at all times.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in floor care is preferred.
  • Experience in institutional cleaning is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with floor-care equipment is beneficial.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
