Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Autonomy ML Infrastructure

The Behavior ML Infrastructure team at Nuro is responsible for building and improving the core infrastructure for behavior and perception teams.
This includes model training pipelines, onboard inference and optimizations, data and feature pipelines, Reinforcement Learning infrastructure, and developer productivity and best practices.
In this role, you will work closely with teams across Nuro to design, build, and deploy core infrastructure components in the machine learning model life cycle.
You will have the opportunity to work across the full stack of machine learning solutions, from designing robust and scalable data pipelines to deploying optimized models on Nuro's fleet of self-driving robots.
About the Work- Develop scalable and robust ML pipelines for processing petabytes of data, training large models, and deploying them in production.
- Collaborate closely with machine learning domain experts and engineers across behavior, perception, research, mapping, infrastructure, and other teams to design and implement end-to-end ML solutions.
- Build frameworks and interfaces to accelerate machine learning development and maximize the utilization of hardware capabilities.
- Write robust, high-quality software to increase our confidence in our vehicle's ability to navigate safely on-road.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 4+ years of experience in ML infrastructure or large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience with ML fundamentals and deep learning frameworks, especially around scalability, optimizations, and profiling.
- Leverage state-of-the-art ML optimization techniques, including quantization and a custom compiler framework.
- Proficient in Python and working experience with C++.
- A passion for accelerating the benefits of robotics for everyday life.
