Woodwind Methods Adjunct Faculty

Role Summary:
The Department of Music invites applications for a part-time instructor in Music Education to lead a course in Woodwind Methods aimed at Music Education majors. This course will focus on teaching Class Woodwinds and is designed for the upcoming academic term.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Conduct a weekly 80-minute class on campus.
2. Prepare and submit a comprehensive course syllabus, schedule card, and ensure timely submission of class audits and grades.
3. Administer the final assessment during the designated examination period.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Music Education or Performance (woodwind instrument).
- Significant experience in woodwind performance and pedagogy (flute, clarinet, saxophone).
- Proven teaching experience in K-12 or collegiate settings (minimum of 3 years).
- Familiarity with best practices in woodwind instruction, including instrument maintenance and teaching methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ABD or a doctorate in Music Education or Performance (woodwind instrument).
- At least one year of experience teaching at the college level, including roles as a TA or student-teacher supervisor.
- Demonstrated success in supervising student teachers.
Compensation:
Salary is based on one Faculty Weighted Hour, with no reimbursement for travel or relocation costs.
