About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Engineer to join our team in the Greenville, SC office. This position will support our Environmental business line, primarily working on Department of Defense projects, as well as supporting private industry projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply scientific principles, theories, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
  • Prepare technical work plans and reports, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, and compare findings to relevant regulations.
  • Plan, execute, analyze, and report on environmental measures in natural systems.
  • Apply standard field practices and techniques using basic field equipment to collect samples and complete chain-of-custody paperwork.
  • Apply knowledge of natural sciences to explain observations and conduct oversight of subcontractors.
  • Study and understand contaminants and determine how to restore the environment.
  • Prepare data and scientific documents, possessing technical report writing skills.
  • Perform unsupervised field tasks and direct staff in the execution of tasks.
  • Review analytical data for general indicators of quality and coordinate with task and project managers.
  • Provide technical expertise support as needed and travel to various job sites within the US.
  • Develop a keen understanding of hazard recognition and environmental investigation or remediation.
