We are seeking a Fire Sprinkler System Inspection Specialist to become a vital part of our team.
Compensation: $23 - $50/hour based on qualifications, certifications, and relevant experience.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
As a Fire Sprinkler System Inspection Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to conduct inspections and testing of fire sprinkler systems to ensure adherence to necessary life-safety and fire-safety regulations as outlined by industry standards, manufacturer guidelines, and local laws. This position focuses exclusively on inspections without service calls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections and testing of various fire sprinkler systems.
- Test backflow prevention devices in compliance with relevant codes, which may require additional certifications depending on local regulations.
- Collaborate on all aspects of life safety system evaluations.
- Document inspection results in accordance with NFPA and local standards.
- Foster positive relationships with clients and relay information to the appropriate team members for follow-up and inquiries.
- Communicate any noted deficiencies to clients, providing clear explanations and solutions.
- Perform fire extinguisher duties as needed, approximately 10-20% of the time.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in fire alarm systems.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- NICET II certification in Water-based systems.
- FEX-1 certification for Fire Extinguishers.
- Knowledge of wet/dry chemical fire extinguishing systems.
- Proficient in basic computer operations including Windows, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Apple IOS, and Android.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Willingness to travel overnight occasionally.
Working Environment:
- Regular exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
- Occasional work in elevated or hazardous locations; exposure to toxic substances; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
- Noise levels are typically moderate.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Frequent lifting and carrying of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Must be capable of pushing or pulling weights up to 50 pounds.
- Regular ladder climbing while carrying loads up to 50 pounds.
