Key Responsibilities
  • Visit all school locations as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Exercise sound judgment on sensitive issues and maintain effective relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion and follow through on commitments.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to identify areas needing improvement and develop strategies for intervention.
  • Provide crisis intervention and facilitate small group counseling with at-risk students.
  • Coordinate charitable activities and support schools in committee work, events, and activities.
  • Implement district policies, including the Migrant and Homeless policies, and coordinate summer scheduling for students-in-transition.
  • Refer students and families requiring long-term intervention to internal partners and outside resources.
Requirements
  • Master's in Social Work required.
  • Practicum experience or on-the-job experience in providing social services or counseling assistance.
  • Effective human relations skills and understanding of principles of youth development.
  • Ability to interact effectively with students and parents in solving student problems and resolving school/home-related issues.
