Mud Bay is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Store Lead to join our team. As a Store Lead, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, leading a team of sales associates, and driving sales growth in our pet store.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Service: Provide a happy, educational, and fun experience for all customers who visit our stores.
- Team Leadership: Thrive in a retail environment and engage customers in conversation, connect with them on a personal level, and help them find solutions to fulfill the needs of their animals, while ensuring that staff members are doing the same.
- Sales Growth: Contribute to sales growth by providing complete, holistic solutions that promote long-term health for dogs and cats.
- Operations: Perform transactions at the point of sale, cash handling and other financial procedures accurately and efficiently.
- Decision Making: Make decisions based on good judgment and Mud Bay's mission and values.
- Continuous Learning: Enjoy learning and want to learn continuously about animal health and nutrition and leadership. Willing to help others learn in a team environment.

- Store Maintenance: Lead, train, and work with team to maintain the cleanliness, organization and attractiveness of store's sales and support areas.
- Inventory Management: Lead, train, and work with team to maintain inventory by continuously and accurately receiving, rotating, restocking, and facing the store.
- Communication: Communicate with the manager and leadership team frequently to provide useful information ensuring the growth of staff's abilities, performance and needs.
- Store Operations: Consider and anticipate the needs of the store and the team while reflecting the values and character of Mud Bay.
- Store Opening and Closing: Open and close the store - leading the team during the day.
- Delegation and Empowerment: Delegate, empower, and ensure the experience is happening for customers and employees.
- Flexibility: Is comfortable with retail scheduling, including a variety of shifts.
- Location Flexibility: Is able to work at a minimum of four locations, between a home store and assisting at neighboring locations.
- Leadership Experience: 2+ years of proven leadership experience or equivalent.
- Education: Has a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Delegation and Coaching: Delegation, coaching and mentoring others through tasks.
- Communication Skills: Ability to give and receive feedback.
- Problem Solving: Ability to identify top business and people needs and prioritize.
- Age: Must be 18 years or older.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift to 45 pounds.
- Leadership Experience: Experience leading a team required.
- Math and Computer Skills: Competent with basic math, comfortable using computers, calculators and 10-keys.
- Passion for Learning: Has a passion to continuously learn about dogs, cats and small animals.
- Interpersonal Skills: Instinctively gracious: genuinely enjoys making others feel welcome.
- Accountability: Highly accountable: follows through on commitments.

Range of Pay: $20.49 to $23.57 per hour
