Responsibilities- Assist in the provision of nursing care through the nursing process (Assessment, Planning, Intervention, and Evaluation) in the Behavioral Health Unit under the coordination of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Participate in the development and implementation of individualized care plans for patients.
- Contribute to a safe and supportive environment for patients, families, and staff.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Associate Degree and/or Bachelor's in human services field preferred.
- BLS (CPR) certification.
- EKG training/competency must be completed prior to being released from unit orientation, must maintain BLS certification and EKG Competency throughout duration of employment.
- Must attend hospital crisis training program within 3 months of hire or transfer and annually thereafter.
The Psychiatric Technician will work in a clean, well-lit, heated, or ventilated facility with no routine exposure to hazards. May have occasional exposure to blood, body substances, infectious materials, chemical hazards, vibration, radiation, slippery surfaces, or noise that may result from performance of duties.
