Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cosmetologist to join our team at SCI Shared Resources LLC. As a Cosmetologist, you will be responsible for preparing hair arrangements and cosmetics for deceased individuals in accordance with family instructions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manicure fingernails using files and nail polish
  • Perform grooming tasks such as arching and plucking eyebrows and removing facial hair
  • Wash and dry bodies using germicidal soap as required
  • Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of equipment and area
  • Record personal effects delivered with the body and information about the deceased
  • Shampoo, wave, press, curl, and brush hair following photography of the deceased and/or description obtained from the client family
  • Assist the embalmer in restoring disfigured or maimed deceased individuals
  • Engage in and support company initiatives
  • Stay current with Dignity University courses
  • May assist with or perform the function of dressing and placing the deceased in a casket
  • May be required to provide all equipment including hair dryers, cosmetics, hair products, flat irons, dyes, combs, and brushes
  • Perform other duties as directed by management

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of six (6) months Cosmetology experience
  • Must hold a state-required Cosmetology license, where required
  • Extensive knowledge of physiognomy, color scale, re-creative artistry, and chemistry
  • Previous customer service experience
  • High level of compassion and integrity
  • Good communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills

Compensation:

  • Salary: $21.00/hr
  • Benefits: Part-time associates working an average 20 hours a week may be eligible for 401(k)
