Product Development for Climate Data

We are seeking a skilled Product Development Specialist to join our team at the University of Texas at Austin City+Climate Colab. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating and enhancing products that meet the city's data needs related to climate mitigation and impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine product specifications based on various factors and uses.
  • Develop tools and prototypes to support design and communication activities.
  • Consult with climate scientists to ensure products are accurate and replicable.
  • Develop climate data products and tools to make data accessible and usable.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure data and tools are used for climate-centric decisions and strategies.
  • Manage internal communications and draft content for mass media or company websites.
  • Liaise with the UT information office and handle requests for interviews and statements.
  • Foster relationships with community advocates and key persons.
  • Collaborate with faculty to produce copy for articles.
  • Assist in communicating strategies or messages from senior leadership.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of product development and climate data.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with stakeholders and team members.
  • Experience with tool development and prototyping.
  • Knowledge of climate science and data analysis.
