Principal/Utility Regulation and Finance Expert

Position OverviewOur Energy Practice at CRA advises clients in the regulated energy space on critical issues affecting their businesses. Our experts are renowned leaders in their areas of specialization, combining decades of experience with top consultancies and in-house roles. We offer clients access to industry insights, enabling them to navigate complexity and achieve competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities- Advise clients on utility revenue requirements, cost of capital, cost of service, and rate design
- Lead project management involving all aspects of utility state and/or federal rate cases and similar docketed proceedings
- Develop alternative regulation strategies, including performance-based regulation, multi-year rate plans, energy decoupling, and incentive regulatory mechanisms
- Support transactions involving regulated utilities or infrastructure
- Provide strategic advisory services for utilities or owners of regulated infrastructure
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant financial/economics/business discipline
- Master's degree strongly desired
- Ability to independently manage consulting teams and complex assignments with limited oversight
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop junior staff
- Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills
- Familiarity with ratemaking proceedings, disputes, or other docketed matters
