Part-Time Instructor Pool

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced part-time instructor to teach landscape drafting and environmental horticulture courses at Santa Barbara City College.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide quality instruction and create a learning environment that emphasizes teaching and learning.
  • Develop and maintain curriculum and teaching materials for landscape drafting and environmental horticulture courses.
  • Teach lecture and lab classes as determined by the department.
  • Be available to students outside of class for consultation and support.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in agriculture, agriculture science, education, or a related field with a specialization in agriculture or other agricultural area.
  • Previous teaching experience in landscaping or drafting, preferably.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of landscape drafting and environmental horticulture principles and practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Doctorate degree in a related field.
  • Experience with CAD/Vectorworks drafting software.
