Job Description
Our Chesapeake, VA team, supporting Military Sealift Command (MSC), has an immediate need for a US Navy IT Technician 3 with demonstrated experience providing tier 2/3 infrastructure support for enterprise-level networks comprised of US Navy Program of Record (POR) systems, including COMPOSE, CANEs, ADNS, GCCS, CENTRIXS, and CND. Primary responsibilities include:
* Troubleshoot and analyze issues to help determine and execute repair activities that will return equipment, system, or network to operational status
* Serve as Subject Matter Expert in one or more of the POR systems (COMPOSE, CANEs, ADNS, GCCS, CENTRIXS, and/or CND)
* Respond to and update trouble calls using the Remedy ticketing system
* Serve as team leader for installation of new systems or upgrades to existing systems, supervising teams of 2-7 technicians per installation
* Work with shipboard personnel and/or other network support vendors to resolve shipboard ADP/IT network issues
* Generate and submit daily work reports
* Must possess an IAT II-level security certification as outlined in DoD 8570.01-M
* Must have at least 7 years of progressive IT experience, with recent experience within the past 3 years
* Must be available to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations
* Must possess Subject Matter Expert-level knowledge and/or skill set in building, deploying, and/or providing tier 2/3 support in at least one of the following systems: CANEs, ADNS, COMPOSE 4.0.x, GCCS 4.1.1.2, CENTRIXS Block 0/1/2, and/or CND systems
* Must possess knowledge and/or skill set in some or all of the following areas: enterprise-level tier 2/3 computer network support, server virtualization software (VMWare or Microsoft Hyper-V) usage, workstation image deployment, Microsoft Active Directory user and group administration, TMG, IAV patching, CTO/EXORD/OPORD implementation, HBSS configuration, WSUS configuration, Naval Fleet NOC engagement
