Position Overview:

The Clinical Speech Therapist plays a vital role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with communication and swallowing disorders. This position involves providing expert consultation, education, and training to patients and their families to enhance their understanding and management of these conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality clinical services, adhering to established standards of care and evidence-based practices tailored to each patient's unique needs.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental protocols and regulatory standards for documentation, billing, and scheduling.
  • Facilitate the education and supervision of colleagues, new hires, and students as required.
  • Act as a mentor for student clinicians and new staff members during their training and development.
  • Maintain effective communication and collaborative relationships with healthcare professionals, patients, and their families.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary patient care meetings and contribute to staff discussions as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Active state license as a Speech Pathologist.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications, including word processing and email.
  • Current certification of clinical competence in the field.

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in Speech Pathology.
  • Experience working in a hospital setting.
  • Familiarity with the specific patient population to be served.

Physical Demands:

This role requires various physical abilities including hearing, lifting, manual dexterity, visual acuity, and the capacity to engage in activities such as sitting, standing, and walking.
