POSITION SUMMARY

Connecticut, Inc. is seeking a Financial Planning Analyst Intern within the Budget and Financial Management Division. This role offers a unique chance to engage in budget and policy analysis for state governance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week, located in Hartford, CT.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Financial Planning Analyst Intern, you will:

  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to support higher-level specialists in managing the state’s financial programs.
  • Review and assess budget requests and provide recommendations for assigned agencies.
  • Monitor fiscal operations and agency expenditures throughout the fiscal year.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and background data for fiscal administration issues.
  • Participate in discussions regarding financial requirements and compliance with budgetary policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify for this role, candidates should possess:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to understand and apply relevant laws and regulations.
  • Analytical skills to identify and solve financial problems.
  • A degree in data science, economics, finance, public administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with data analysis tools, particularly Microsoft Excel or Access.

Successful candidates will complete a development program, leading to potential reclassification without competitive examination. All appointments will adhere to the approved development program guidelines.
