Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacist Assistant to join our team at Fairview Health Services. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our pharmacists in their daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vaccination Administration: Assist pharmacists in administering vaccinations to patients, ensuring accurate dosing and proper technique.
  • Counseling and Education: Provide patients with clear and concise information about their medications, including potential side effects and usage instructions.
  • Leadership and Management: Support pharmacists in leadership roles, assisting with tasks such as inventory management and staff supervision.
  • Personal and Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and education to stay up-to-date on the latest pharmacy practices and technologies.
  • Prescription Processing: Accurately enter prescriptions into our computer system, ensuring timely and efficient processing.
  • Medication Dispensing: Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications to patients, ensuring accurate labeling and packaging.
  • Cash Handling: Process patient payments and manage cash transactions in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Insurance and Referrals: Assist with contacting insurance companies and referring physicians' offices to resolve prescription-related issues.
  • Inventory Management: Assist pharmacists in maintaining accurate inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed, and removing expired or damaged medications.
  • Pharmacy Maintenance: Ensure the pharmacy is clean and organized, adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of a 1st year Pharm.D. program (intern status in MN) or current enrollment in a Pharm.D. program.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a pharmacy setting, with a focus on supply management and organization.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
