Pastry Preparation Specialists are responsible for the creation, production, and presentation of baked goods, pastries, and desserts.

Core Responsibilities

  • Prepare baked items according to provided recipes or specific requests
  • Assist the Chef in managing inventory for bread and pastries, communicating needs to the ordering manager
  • Be adaptable to work various shifts, including weekends
  • Safely operate all necessary kitchen tools and equipment
  • Effectively communicate job instructions both verbally and in writing
  • Handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Work in varying noise and temperature conditions within a confined space
  • Lift up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Stand and walk for the duration of shifts, ensuring safe navigation throughout the restaurant

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients for bread, pastry, and dessert recipes
  • Adhere to portion control guidelines and maintain appropriate stock levels
  • Ensure food safety and quality standards are met
  • Accurately utilize thermometers for cooking
  • Report any food delays to the Coordinator
  • Monitor inventory counts and inform management when supplies are low
  • Account for all items leaving the preparation station
  • Follow protocols for food allergies and special requests
  • Adhere to safety and sanitation standards
  • Comply with employment policies and conditions
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute as a team player
  • Perform additional tasks as required
  • Be available for various shifts, including weekends
