Job Title: Full Time Teller

About the Role:

Old Second National Bank is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Full Time Teller to join our team. As a Teller, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing banking transactions, and maintaining a positive and professional work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality customer service, greeting and closing customers, using customer names, and resolving errors and issues.
  • Process checking and savings deposits/withdrawals, adhering to policies and procedures, and ensuring proper endorsements, negotiability of items, and availability of funds.
  • Process various types of payments and orders, including loan payments, real estate tax payments, money orders, and cashier's checks.
  • Count, prove, and package currency, balance cash drawers, and research discrepancies within specified timeframes.
  • Effectively use technology to accurately complete customer transactions.
  • Participate in sales referral goals, meeting individual targets, and actively engage in required training sessions.
  • Maintain flexibility to float to other branches and work dynamic schedules as needed.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Six months of related experience in cash handling, customer service, or office settings.
  • Must work onsite to perform responsibilities of this position.
  • Incumbent will initially train in another local Old Second location before transitioning to the South Holland branch.

Competencies:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Professional communication skills.
  • Cash handling and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth customer service, cash handling, and sales experience.
  • Experience resolving customer service issues and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Prior experience balancing a cash drawer.
  • Prior experience in banking.

Compensation and Benefits:

Base pay: $16.50 - $20.00/hour. Old Second is committed to fair and equitable pay practices. Pay is dependent upon the pay range and the incumbent's knowledge, skills, and experience.

Variable pay: Eligible to participate in the Retail Incentive Plan. Payment varies based upon sales referral activities.
