Are you an experienced industrial electrician with a strong background in reading schematics and working with various electrical systems? At Sarasota County Government, we are seeking a dedicated individual to take on the role of Industrial Electrician (SCADA Unit) within our Water and Wastewater Facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced technical work in electrical, automation, and instrumentation technology.
- Maintain, repair, and calibrate a range of electronic and control equipment to support utility operations.
- Provide technical support for hardware and software systems, including SCADA and remote telemetry.
- Inspect and troubleshoot control circuitry, PLCs, and VFDs to ensure optimal performance.
- Install and maintain SCADA systems and various electrical devices according to technical specifications.
- Conduct comprehensive rehabilitation of equipment to meet current design standards.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. *On-call duties may be required.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Technical School Diploma or equivalent AND two (2) years of relevant experience.
- OR
- High School Diploma or GED AND three (3) years of experience in electronics installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
A valid Florida Driver's License is required at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Courses in electronic control, instrumentation, or related fields.
- Certification as a Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) from the International Society for Automation (ISA).
- Experience in electrical and industrial electrical work.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Additional Information:
This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. Failure to pass will result in disqualification from employment for five (5) years.
Compensation:
Starting pay range is $34.35, with a full salary range of $43.26, offering future earning potential.
