Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver legal and regulatory guidance to business units concerning a diverse range of transactional, risk management, and compliance requirements.
  • Assist and counsel the compliance division on regulatory inquiries and enforcement actions; engage in enforcement matters as necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with and oversee external legal counsel.
  • Manage ongoing litigation and arbitration processes at all stages, including representing the firm in smaller litigation and arbitration cases, as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and engage in all facets of discovery and internal investigations.
  • Provide additional support to business units and other legal team members as required, including matters related to contracts, marketing, product development, and various legal issues.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one state bar.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a law firm or in regulatory enforcement.
  • Experience in broker-dealer operations is highly preferred; other regulatory experience will also be considered advantageous.
