Accounting Responsibilities
=========================

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports for assigned properties. This includes reviewing operating financials for budget variances, cost code errors, and other posting errors on invoices. The ideal candidate will also prepare monthly journal entries to record operating activity, account reconciliations, and adjust when necessary. Additionally, they will review costs to determine expense vs. capital classification, track capital expenditures & start-up costs, and prepare monthly balance sheets and reconciliations.

Professional Conduct

The Staff Accountant will conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company. They will also analyze and review accounting and financial resources for property acquisitions and dispositions, conduct monthly close procedures, and ensure that deadlines are met. Furthermore, they will track and record corporate intercompany costs, assist with property management team members as needed, and consolidate monthly financial activity to the corporate system of record.

Requirements
------------
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from a four-year college or university, zero to three years of related experience and/or training, and the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications. They will also be proficient with MS Office and email. Strong communication skills and experience in Yardi, RealPage, or similar software are preferred.
