Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Meat Department Team Lead to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our meat department, you will be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team, driving sales growth, and ensuring exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of meat department associates, providing guidance, coaching, and feedback to ensure excellent performance and high morale.
  • Sales Growth: Work with the team to achieve sales targets, analyze sales data, and implement strategies to drive growth and profitability.
  • Customer Service: Ensure exceptional customer service, responding promptly to customer needs and questions, and maintaining a positive and welcoming store environment.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with ordering and inventory management, ensuring accurate inventory levels and minimizing waste.
  • Training and Development: Train and develop team members on meat products, customer service, and store policies and procedures.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including food safety and sanitation standards.
Requirements
  • 18+ months retail team member experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience.
  • High energy, enthusiastic, and displays an affinity for our products, core values, and company philosophy.
  • Extensive knowledge of meat products and ability to teach others.
  • Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills.
  • Proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance, monitoring profitability, and managing inventory.
  • Demonstrated decision-making ability, leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and delegate.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
  • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
  • Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
  • Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.
  • Ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
