Objetivo del Departamento: Comprometido a ofrecer el más alto estándar de atención, asegurando la seguridad del paciente y promoviendo buenas relaciones laborales entre departamentos.
Propósito del Puesto: Realizar vigilancia en todo el hospital con fines de control de infecciones. Identificar, investigar y registrar datos sobre infecciones nosocomiales. Iniciar medidas de prevención según lo indicado por el comité de prevención de infecciones.
Funciones Esenciales:
- Mantener las políticas y procedimientos establecidos del departamento, así como los estándares de calidad continua, seguridad y prevención de infecciones.
- Consultar con el comité de prevención de infecciones sobre la implementación de programas de prevención y ayudar en el desarrollo de la recopilación de datos, establecimiento de políticas y procedimientos, y medidas de control. Mantener informado al comité sobre todos los hallazgos de vigilancia y actividades de control.
- Colaborar con otros departamentos en la implementación de políticas y procedimientos de prevención de infecciones, así como en la identificación y aislamiento de infecciones y problemas relacionados.
- Realizar rondas periódicas buscando indicios de infección y mantener un registro continuo de cada infección observada.
- Recopilar estadísticas y preparar informes regulares para el comité de prevención de infecciones.
- Implementar y enseñar medidas y técnicas de prevención de infecciones a todo el personal del hospital involucrado en la atención al paciente, incluyendo la realización de reuniones generales para empleados según sea necesario.
- Mantener y actualizar el manual de prevención de infecciones.
- Reportar todas las enfermedades transmisibles a las autoridades de salud pública.
- Asistir en el cuidado y mantenimiento del equipo y suministros del departamento.
- Preparar documentos según lo requiera la profesión y el departamento.
- Fomentar el crecimiento y desarrollo profesional a través de la participación en programas educativos, literatura actual, reuniones de capacitación y talleres.
- Asistir a reuniones requeridas.
- Instrucción para nuevos empleados.
Las funciones anteriores se han proporcionado como ejemplos de los tipos de trabajo realizados por empleados asignados a esta clasificación de trabajo. Responsabilidades Adicionales:
Asistir y mantener un registro de las actividades de administración de antibióticos.
Educación, Calificaciones, Experiencia:
Graduado de una escuela de enfermería acreditada.
Licencia de enfermera registrada en el estado correspondiente.
Certificación en RCP.
Características Personales:
Capacidad para ser automotivado. Trabajar bien solo y en equipo.
Expectativa de Servicio: Este es un puesto no exento de 20 a 40 horas por semana. Se requiere asistencia regular y puntual.
Requisitos Físicos: Ocasionalmente sentado, frecuentemente de pie, caminando, doblándose, agachándose, levantando/cargando de 10 a 50 libras con levantamiento/carga ocasional de 51 a 75 libras; frecuente alcance/sujeción, torsión, empuje/jalón, exposición ocasional a instrumentos afilados, exposición al polvo y humos. Exposición frecuente a equipos. Escritura continua en inglés y trabajo en horarios irregulares.

No se requiere equipo especial, excepto el conocimiento sobre el funcionamiento de la sala de aislamiento.
