We boast a fully-equipped facility with digital x-ray, ultrasound, therapeutic laser, underwater treadmill, and a comprehensive rehabilitation center staffed by certified professionals.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinarians and veterinary technicians in all aspects of their duties.

Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in exams, surgeries, and medical treatments
  • Prepare animals for exams and surgery, and aid in performing medical treatments
  • Perform or prepare laboratory tests, and administer medications under the direction of a veterinarian or veterinary technician
  • Obtain and properly handle/prepare in-house and laboratory specimens (cytology, blood draws, blood smear, fecal, etc.)
  • Work in cooperation with staff to attend to any immediate needs, and handle animals and their owners in a responsive, courteous, and tactful manner
  • Maintain a healthy, safe, sanitary, pleasant, and clean facility for animals
Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb, as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds and lift over 50 pounds with the assistance of a coworker
  • Ability to work in noisy work conditions with sounds from animals and equipment that can be moderately high
  • Fluency in the written and verbal skills necessary to perform successfully the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of the position
  • Ability to exchange accurate information with all clients and team members
