This role provides direct clinical patient care to geriatric patients with psychiatric needs. The successful candidate will assess, plan, and implement direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per shift basis, and unit level. The role is responsible for supervision of staff to which appropriate care is delegated, ensuring high quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
Responsibilities- Active and current registered nurse license in the state of residence/practice
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to serve as role model and advocate for the professional discipline of nursing
Graduated from a state-approved school of nursing or an accredited school. Academic degree in nursing (Bachelor's or Master's degree) is preferred. Must be currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy. CPR certification is required.
Work EnvironmentShelby Medical Center is a 252-bed facility located in Alabaster, equipped with advanced technology resources, including a 3 Tesla MRI, a robotic surgery program, and a state-of-the-art cardiology suite. The center offers a full range of services, including fast, life-saving response times for patients with chest pain or stroke symptoms; cardiology, including specialized surgical services; orthopedics, including rehabilitation; and psychiatric care.
