Job Summary
Celestica is seeking a skilled Production Operator to join our team. As a Production Operator, you will be responsible for performing routine tasks related to the manufacture, assembly, repair, or modification of products.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hand soldering, manual assembly, setup, and operation of semiautomatic and/or automated assembly equipment and tools.
- Inspect component parts prior to assembly and reject defective parts.
- Set up, operate, and maintain assembly and hand soldering equipment and tools.
- Recognize problems in the assembly process or with assembly components and report them to a Team Leader.
- Learn established quality and quantity requirements and manually assemble components to produce high-quality products within defined time periods.
Requirements
- Zero to two years of relevant experience.
- High School or equivalent (basic numeracy and literacy).
- Ability to learn and follow detailed assembly instructions.
- Ability to set up, operate, and maintain assembly and hand soldering equipment and tools.
- Ability to recognize problems in the assembly process or with assembly components and report them to a Team Leader.
Working Conditions
The duties of this position are performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, etc.
The duties of the position require periodic light physical effort and exertion, including prolonged repetitive motions requiring manual dexterity and precise hand/eye coordination, sitting and/or standing in confined workspaces, using tools and equipment, and moving and handling materials.
The duties may require periodic heavy manual effort, including lifting objects.
The duties require extended periods of sustained visual concentration on detailed documentation and product assemblies.
Above demands are carried out within the company and statutory health and safety guidelines.
