Production Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise production activities to ensure quality products are produced efficiently and safely, while meeting regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Request and manage components to meet production schedules, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
  • Organize and direct employees to maximize productivity, following company procedures.
  • Prepare and submit daily and weekly reports to the accounting department.
  • Prepare production records, including Lot Tracking Forms and Delivery to Hold Notices.
  • Promote good safety practices and housekeeping.
  • Approve requisitions for indirect production supplies and assist with budgeting.
  • Resolve employee issues, including personal days, vacations, and sick leave.
  • Supervise start-up of production areas and train new employees.
  • Attend safety meetings and hold GMP meetings with employees.
  • Review production documents and ensure they are properly completed.
Accountability and Scope:

This position is responsible for all aspects of factory floor conversion at the Colonial Heights plant, including production efficiencies, attainments, product quality, waste reduction, employee safety, and compliance with GMPs, ISO, and QSR programs.

Requirements:
  • High school education or equivalent mandatory.
  • Four-year college degree preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience essential, with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Pharmaceutical, cosmetic, or food manufacturing background, as well as understanding of cGMPs, required.
Skills:
  • Verbal and written communication skills a must.
  • Strong math background helpful.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Good problem-solving and reasoning skills.
  • Use of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma a plus.
Equipment Used:
  • Computer.
  • Electric hand truck.
Supervision:

This individual will supervise all department hourly employees, maintenance mechanics, porters, and line quality control.
