Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is between $139,000.00 and $221,000.00, contingent upon the candidate's qualifications, experience, and market analysis at the time of hiring. Role Overview

The Senior Manager will oversee the expense management reporting function within the SPDADFAD Controllers Group, focusing on both Personnel and Non-Personnel expenses, month-end closing activities, and collaboration with Head Office reporting. This role requires interaction and coordination with various internal departments within SMBC and its subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Report directly to the Director of Management Reporting, responsible for payroll reconciliations and general ledger adjustments.
  • Ensure the execution of tasks while enhancing existing processes and implementing robust controls surrounding payroll entries and reconciliations.
  • Manage expense and budget oversight, including expense classification and accrual accounting.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of core operational processes, focusing on administering defined procedures, analyses, and report preparation in accordance with IFRS and U.S. GAAP.
  • Perform duties with accuracy and timeliness.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting; MS/MBA is advantageous.
  • CPA certification is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple tasks with strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient in financial reporting and general accounting practices (US GAAP, J-GAAP, IFRS).
  • Familiarity with bank reconciliations and fixed asset accounting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounts payable vendor maintenance is a plus.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end closing processes.
  • Proficient in Oracle Application and/or other accounting software.
  • Advanced Excel skills (including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.).
  • Experience in the financial services industry is a plus but not required.
