Estimating Manager Overview
We are looking for an Estimating Manager to oversee the estimating department in generating precise and competitive cost assessments for ship repair and maintenance initiatives.

This position demands a meticulous professional with substantial experience in shipyard operations and a robust capability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.

The Estimating Manager will be accountable for the final submission of intricate cost estimates and bid packages directed to U.S. Navy and commercial clients.


Key Responsibilities of the Estimating Manager
  • Direct and supervise the estimating team in crafting cost estimates for ship repair and maintenance endeavors.
  • Examine and interpret project specifications, drawings, and supplementary documents to formulate precise estimates.
  • Establish and uphold standardized estimating procedures and tools to guarantee consistency and precision.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to collect essential information for estimates.
  • Assess subcontractor and supplier proposals to ensure they meet project specifications and budgetary constraints.
  • Track and evaluate project expenses to identify trends and opportunities for enhancement.
  • Offer training and guidance to junior estimators to foster their skills and knowledge.
Position Requirements for the Estimating Manager
  • Familiarity with Navy vessels and ship construction techniques.
  • Understanding of NAVSEA standards along with federal and state regulations.
  • Capability to interpret technical drawings and comprehend government contracts.
  • Experience in proposal writing.
  • Extensive proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Must obtain and maintain TWIC and Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) credentials for access to federally controlled work environments.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available.
