Restaurant Operations Manager Job Description

At Habit Burger & Grill, we are seeking a highly skilled Restaurant Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for assisting the Restaurant General Manager in overseeing the daily operations of our restaurant. Your primary focus will be on maintaining and growing sales by delivering an exceptional customer experience every time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of Team Members.
  • Supervise training and development of Team Members.
  • Communicate, train, and educate Team Members and Managers on all changes or new procedures, processes, products, promotions, or equipment introduced to the restaurant.
  • Assist in development of Managers, Shift Leaders, Cooks, and Cashiers.
  • Maintain and build sales.
  • Conducting and managing inventory.
  • Placing food orders and processing invoices.
  • Track and manage labor and food costs to meet restaurant goals.
  • Assist in preparation of work schedules for Team Members.
  • Manage daily operations of opening, closing, and mid shifts.
  • Maintain restaurant equipment in working order and request service or repair for issues.
  • Directly responsible for maintaining food safety, personal safety, and sanitation standards for the restaurant according to health department regulations and company standards.
  • Comply with and maintain personal hygiene, appearance, and uniform standards for all Team Members.
  • Monitor adherence to all applicable labor laws.
  • Other projects/duties as assigned by the General Manager.

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • This position will involve some repetitive motion tasks.
  • This position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a kitchen environment housed with equipment such as a charbroiler, flat grill, slicer, and chef's knives. The Team Member is frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire, and noise.

Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in a restaurant.
  • Basic knowledge of general business practices.
  • Read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Basic math skills and computer competency.
  • Customer service-focused and oriented.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership qualities and professionalism.

Minimum Requirements:
  • 2-4 years of experience in a related food service management position preferred.
  • High school degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Food Manager Certification and/or ServSafe Manager Certificate required.
  • Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule based on restaurant needs.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for meetings, conferences, and training.
